Learn to enter tanks, holds and void spaces safely: permit, gas testing including the new CO₂ test, link man, re-testing and rescue. Based on IMO MSC.581(110).
One P&I club estimates that about 60% of those who die are would-be rescuers. This course teaches the procedure that keeps you alive, step by step, using one running example: the inspection of a ballast tank. It is built on the IMO's 2025 recommendations, Resolution MSC.581(110), which replace A.1050(27). That includes the new separate carbon dioxide (CO₂) test, the 10-point entry checklist, the attendant's role as link man, and re-testing after every break. Short animated video lessons (with English or Hindi captions) are followed by quick checks, five interactive Decision at the Hatch scenarios, a final assessment and a practical sign-off at your next on-board drill. Safety note: this course supports, and does not replace, the company Safety Management System, flag State requirements and on-board training. The stricter rule always applies.

Every year seafarers die in ballast tanks, cargo holds, chain lockers and void spaces that looked dry and smelled of nothing. Oxygen can be used up by rusting steel or pushed out by other gases, and you get no warning. One P&I club estimates that about 60% of those who die are would-be rescuers.
